Flexible Statistical Algorithms and Software

Abstract:

Amount Awarded: $16,000

An interface between the statistical software projects NIMBLE and TMB/ADMB will be established. This will greatly facilitate statistical analysis of complex datasets, such as those containing correlation in both time and space. It will make powerful statistical algorithms available to a large number of researchers from many scientific filed, via the BUGS programming language. A suitable dataset from ecology will be used to demonstrate the new statistical framework. The project will establish collaboration between UC Berkeley and the University of Bergen in the fields of statistics and ecology.
