This project links foreign language teachers, design-thinkers engineers and researchers at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) and University of Oslo (Norway) as well as San Jose State University and the Silicon Valley International School in Menlo Park & Palo Alto. The aim is to explore effective integrations of Natural Language Processing (NLP) innovative models to improve academic learning/teaching of languages and our understanding of inclusion through bilingualism, multilingualism and trans-lingualism in bilingual and multicultural settings with linguists, computer scientists and engineers from the universities named above as well as Industry Partnerships in Silicon Valley/San Francisco area. The time frame differences will be addressed within cross-cultures and addressed as an important phase for the understanding of inclusivity in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley as well as in the Norwegian multi-cultural context. NLP with the support of Design Thinking will observe cross-cultures within applied linguistics.
