Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were hosted while on a visit to UC Berkeley by the Peder Sather Center for Advanced Study in of May 2013. At a ceremony on campus attended by visiting dignitaries and a business delegation from Norway, as well as University leadership, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess were greeted by UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert J. Birgeneau. Dean and Peder Sather Professor of History, Carla Hesse, and Professor Liv Duesund, University of Oslo. Dean Hesse gave the guests a presentation on the work of the Peder Sather Center and shared plans for creating a new home for the Center in Barrows Hall.
