The Peder Sather Center for Advanced Study congratulates Professors May-Britt Moser and Edvard I. Moser of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology on winning the 2014 Nobel Prize in Medicine for their discoveries of cells that constitute a positioning system in the brain. Professor Edvard Moser frequently cites the strong influence on his work of Berkeley’s own Professor Edward C. Tolman, the late distinguished comparative psychologist.
The Peder Sather Center currently supports 68 unique scholarly collaborations between University of California, Berkeley and Norwegian faculty.
